MESSAGE

I am extremely happy that the NABARD Regional Office, Jaipur have taken the initiative to organize All India Training Programmes on (I) RIDF financing for roads and, bridges and (ii) RIDF financing for irrigation, for the benefits of officers drawn from the various Regional Offices in the country. I am advised that programmes have been designed to meet full requirements of skill & knowledge for our officers handling these projects. I have no doubt that the expertise available at Malaviya Regional Engineering College with support of NABARD Officials and other experts drawn from various institutions would help in proper identification of projects, strengthening the appraisal technique particularly those concerning the technical aspects of various projects, quality control and technical monitoring. As the eventual total investments under various tranches including RIDF - V would be of the order of Rs. 13,500 crore, it is necessary that the officers upgrade their skills to face the challenges ahead. A new dimension has been added to RIDF i.e. financing of Panchayat Raj Institutions including Gram Panchayats and it is all the more necessary for our officers to fine tune the working to study the grass root level institutions. I wish the training programme all the success and achievement of its objectives in full.
